California. He is also an Assistant Professor at the University of
Toronto, Departments of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology, and
Immunology, and Affiliate Scientist at the Toronto General Research
Institute.
Dr. Winer is known as an early adopter and promoter of three emerging
fields in science, immunometabolism, mechanoimmunology, and
astroimmunology. Within immunometabolism, Dr. Winer studies how gut
microbiota intersects with the gut immune system to control metabolic
and age related disease. He is the recipient of multiple awards in
this field, including an Amgen Early Investigator Award and a Canada
Research Chair.
Marco Quarta

Dr. Marco Quarta earned a Masters degree in Biotechnology, a PhD in
Neuroscience, and post-doctoral training in Aging and Stem Cells
Biology at Stanford University School of Medicine. He then directed at
Stanford School of Medicine/VA Hospital Palo Alto a research team
focused on translational medical research in the fields of aging and
regenerative medicine.
He is now founder and CEO of Rubedo Life Sciences, driving its mission
to develop treatments for chronic age-related diseases and extend
healthspan, and co-founder of the rejuvenation company, Turn
Biotechnologies, based on his work conducted at Stanford University on
transient epigenetic reprogramming. He additionally sits on the
advisory board of the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
(CIRM) and research board at the Center for Healthcare Innovation
(CHI).

Dr. Bill Andrews
Board of Directors
Scientific Advisory Board
Dr. Bill Andrews is the Founder and CEO of Sierra Sciences, a company
focused on finding ways to extend human lifespan and health span. Bill
received his Ph.D. in Molecular & Population Genetics in 1981 from the
University of Georgia.
Before founding Sierra Sciences Bill was a medical researcher at Armos
Corporation, Codon Corporation, Berlex Biosciences, Geron Corporation,
and EOS Biotech. His research focused on cancer, heart disease,
inflammation, and aging. Bill played key roles in the discoveries of
Human Growth Hormone, Tissue Plasminogen Activator, Osteo-Inductive
Factor, Erythropoietin, Beta-Seron, Telomerase, and Imetelstat, to
name a few.
In 1997 Bill was awarded 2nd Place as National Inventor of the Year
for his cancer research. In the early-to-mid 1990s, while at Geron
Corporation, Bill led the research to discover both the RNA and
protein components of human telomerase, the enzyme responsible for
preventing telomeres from shortening in our reproductive cells.
Presently, the primary focus of Sierra Sciences is to find ways to
produce telomerase and lengthen telomeres in all cells of the human
body.
